EQ: Why do I need to know why healthcare needs nurses and how we all benefit from having hem?

PART ONE:

In my mentorship, it's only so much a high school intern can do in the office, so it was an observant mentorship more than anything. This gave me time to think and have a perspective outside of the fast paced office. Through one day observing, I realized how hard the nurses work to take care of the patients and the respect they give to the doctors in the office.

From then on, I wanted to know more about the job and the ins and outs of what they do behind the scenes. I felt an obligation to look more into the nursing career and see why does the health care needs nurses. This seemed like a simple question at first, but then I realized it was a deeper question than I thought. Most importantly I needed to know the perspective of the nurses themselves.

PART TWO:

As I proceed to what I need to know, I look back and see if I do know something about the topic. I have been at my mentorship for a semester before I knew what I wanted to conduct my research topic on nurses,so it came to me that I knew a few things. I knew that the nurses in my office are a key factor in getting the patients ready to see the doctor and asking them key questions for the doctors to focus on. I believe you have to be very intelligent for this job and it's crucial for the nurses to be ready for anything and at any time. Besides knowing that, I didn't specially know too much about the topic.

PART THREE:

After I looked back on what I know, I went to the next step of the research and hunted for the information that will be helpful for the project. I found articles that supported my topic in the ways nurses are key aspects to the care of the patient. Many of the articles came from searches in question and google scholar to help with credible sites.Through all the articles they had one common point and this was the point that if we did not have them the field would have trouble with patients. Once I had researched and found my information for the annotated bibliographies, I reached out to the nurses at my mentorship to help me with their perspective on the job of being a nurse. This is when I conducted the interview to ask them questions to see why they love their job and create a well rounded research. Essentially what I learned is that my assumptions were right and that the health care is built on the need for nurses.

PART FOUR:

As I concluded my research of my essential question, I looked over all the information I found out about it. I essentially found out that my assumption of the nurses working diligently and efficiently was very much so in this case. My research brought a new aspect into my project because I found out nurses actually help with finding out new technology methods and new ways of doing things. While I found this out, I also found out that the healthcare field is trying to raise pay for nurses as well as getting them involved in many other ways.

Looking deeper into the research and how it contributed to my project, I connected it to the world and myself. Through my search, the help with the article made me think about the impact of nurses and the care they give so willingly. When I think about how this affected me,I thought to myself even though I want to still be a doctor, I respect nurses more than I did before because I’ve seen it first hand the patience and thoroughness they have for patients. As my final thought in this conclusion, is the need of the research and the need for people to know why we all need nurses.
