THE

MENTORSHIP

GROUP OF THE NURSES AT MY MENTORSHIP THAT INSPIRED MY PROJECT

 Abstract:

Adaizha Pinnock: Dr. Garrett and Dr. Fisher, Longstreet Clinic, P.C. Braselton

This year I have mentored at the Longstreet Clinic, P.C. in Braselton for the orthopedic surgeon's office. Being in orthopedics has always been a passion of mine and I wanted to further my knowledge in this field by mentoring at this office. As I have experienced seeing both sides of the office as shadowing surgeons, physician assistants, and CMA’s, I have witnessed the relationship and the dynamics of a medical office. This created my purpose of the my project  to identify the key reasons why the healthcare field needs nurses or CMA’s and how important they are to patients. Through my mentorship, I have seen first hand how much the CMA’s work and take care of the patients diligently. One important aspect of the job I have learned is the importance of being organized and being able to have everything prepared for the doctor, so it makes their job more simple when examining the patient. As I had my own personal experience, I have also researched more information to support my statement and create a well rounded project. Furthermore, this mentorship has been very beneficial and an experience that will help me in my journey to my career in the healthcare field.
